Experience:
2 - 5 years (This is a must) We are a local accounting firm looking for a DEGREED ACCOUNTANT.
Our firm will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of small businesses.
You will be working on the general ledgers in Quickbooks, preparing/filing small business tax returns online, registering and closing business accounts online.
Responsibilities:
- General ledger activities including data entry, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements for small businesses.
Quickbooks Online and Desktop.
- Filing tax returns and payments associated with small businesses:
CAT tax, bureau of workers' compensation, sales tax,1040 income tax, 1099's.
- Knowledge of online registration for CAT tax, sales tax, workers' compensation, and payroll tax accounts, along with the closing of these accounts online.
- Payroll tax background is a plus when needed to assist the client with any tax notifications received by their payroll company or when assistance is needed to register the client for payroll tax withholding/unemployment on the Ohio Business Gateway or the ODJFS.
- Experience with the Ohio Business Gateway is a must for registering businesses for new state taxes, processing recurring tax returns and monthly payments, closing business tax accounts, etc.

- Work with the departments of taxation and the attorney general's office to assist client with new business tax set up, closing of tax accounts, and tax notifications - Responding to various federal, state and local tax notices on behalf of the client
Experience:
- Well versed in accounting principles and a thorough understanding of debits, credits, and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Journal entries and preparation of financial statements - Tax payments and online filings for the small business taxes noted above - Online use of the Ohio Business Gateway, Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation - Accounting Software:
QuickBooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online; Accounting CS - Microsoft Office Environment:
